Diosa

Diosa has gained recognition in the Phoenix area with her orange double veils. Her love of double veil began with her first instructor in 2001 with Joynan of Colorado. Diosa formerly studied with local instructors, Danah Stedman and Ava Fleming for her continued training. She has received specialized workshop training and classes with other local instructors, such as Yasmina, Katayna, and Melissa. She receives all her advanced training from Master Instructors from all over the world such as Leila Haddad, Jillina, Aziza, Bert Belladine, Leyla Jouvana, Fahtiem, Suhaila Salimpour, Rachel Brice, and more.

Diosa began teaching Beginning Belly Dance in May 2002. She was Synergy Center’s (formerly Belly Dancers Boutique) first instructor, and also taught across the Valley for places such as Thunderbird American Graduate School of International Management, Naturally Women Fitness Centers, City of Peoria, and the City of Glendale. Her concern for safety encouraged her to obtain her ACE Personal Training and Group Fitness Instruction Certifications, so she could properly teach her students about muscle groups, safety, posture, and form.

Diosa won 1st runner up for Belly Dancer of the Universe 2004 in the Fusion Category. She was formerly a member of the Arizona Belly Dance Troupe, led by Danah Stedman, the award winning Black Opal Dance Company directed by Ava Fleming, the cabaret sect of Natium, World Dance, and a guest dancer of Maryana/Melissa's Unity in Motion. Diosa is currently the director and choreographer of two Middle Eastern ensembles, The Desert Flowers and Osiris.

She also performs at many venues and has danced for Shakira, Sonia Montero de Falcone, the Arizona Republic, Lollapalooza, Rakkasah, Cooperstown, Arizona State University, The Phoenix Zoo, & more. . .
