FALL IS HERE! Are you ready to dance??

The summer has been a season of adventure as well as challenges, and I am happy to return to dancing with you!

I spent almost two weeks in Italy with three former 'mates from my 2nd grade team. We stayed in Florence and Rome, taking buses and trains to different cities. I bought an amazing moon mask in Venice, experienced cheese and wine tasting in the best of Tuscany, dipped my feet in the waters off the coast of Cinque Terre, sweltered in the catacombs of Pompeii, discovered art in Siena, photographed Mt. Vesuvius driving through Naples, explored Rome through an Angels and Demons tour, and rushed through the overcrowded Vatican City and Sistine Chapel.

After returning from Italy, my sister made a turn for the worse. Many of you know that my sister suffered from an inoperable brain tumor. The tumor eventually began growing again, shutting down her organ systems almost immediately. She passed on June 30. I am grateful for the time I spent with her in her last moments, and that she could feel all of our love as she crossed over.

The following week, I went outside of the San Francisco area for a Women's Leadership Seminar. The 9-day long retreat helped reset me, and I had much support from my new WLS sisters, facilitators, and coaches. Despite all of the changes and challenges I still had to face, I returned back to Phoenix feeling whole again.

The very week I returned from California, I started my new teaching position as a Middle School Art teacher. I am so excited to be able to focus on my other love!

Now it won't be long before we get the gang back together! I look forward to hearing your experiences, as well as having fun and sharing in laughter when we all return to classes this August!

CLASS DATES

  • NOTE: There is no class on August 6th, due to a schedule change.

I have back issues of Shimmy Magazine!

This international magazine has been in publication since 2009. Shimmy is a beautiful and artistic periodical. The content is relevant and intriguing with well-known interviews of master dancers and instructors in the world of belly dance, as well as how the art of movement integrates with healthy living.

As the new publisher, I hope to continue the legacy, and bring you something new with each issue. You can visit the website at www.shimmyspiritofdance.com. Please Like our Facebook page at "Shimmy In The Spirit of Bellydance Magazine". If you are interested in ordering back issues, I currently have inventory on issues #1-3, and #5-17. Issue #4 is sold out, and issues #18-20 are available to order on MagCloud. If you are interested in purchasing a series of available issues in stock, the set is $120 (worth over $200). Just pop me an email!
